Christopher Nolan to "help out" with the development of a Superman Reboot

Since the new Batman movies completely redeemed what had become a pretty campy franchise, we’ve been hearing about new reboots for super-hero flicks all over the place.  Spiderman’s doing it (sadly without Wes Anderson on board), The Hulk did it (about a week after the first one came out), and (I know this isn’t a reboot, but I want to bring it up because it’s awesome) Michel Gondry is directing Seth Rogan in The Green Hornet.

So, when they decided to reboot Superman, which “will definitely not be a follow-up to Superman Returns,” they got good ol’ Christopher Nolan to come over and help (not write or direct) breathe some new life into perhaps the most iconic superhero of all time.

[There’s also a small segment in the article this links to about a third Batman, so read up.]

I’m excited by this news, but do you guys think Superman has the same potential as Batman to be re-imagined and re-packaged?

Christopher Nolan talks Batman 3 | ComicBookMovie.com

While Nolan hasn’t commited to directing, he did have a thing or two to say about the next installment of Batman:

My brother Jonathan is working on the screenplay. We came up with a story that we are very exited about. We particularly like where we are taking the characters and what the ending is. There are things for me to be very exited about in addressing the characters again, but ultimately it always comes down to the script, and can we make a great film from this? Thats something I will firmly be turning my attention to figuring out fairly soon. [This film will be] the ending of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story”

On recasting the Joker for the sequel,

No” says Nolan, emphatically and unhesitatingly. “I just don’t feel comfortable talking about it”

Lastly, on what villain WON’T be making an appearance,

“It won’t be Mr Freeze.”

What Batman villain would you like to see in the next movie?

Go behind-the-scenes of “Inception” with director Christopher Nolan and actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

The two discuss the complexity of the story, what it was like to shoot the visually stunning scenes in different cities all over the world, and how the ensemble cast was one of the driving forces of the film.

“Its about trying to envelope yourself in the jigsaw puzzle of what ‘Inception’ is and our emotional journies amidst this giant canvas of the dreamworld” - Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCprio, Ellen Page and director Christopher Nolan discuss their new, highly-anticipated film

Inception is about as big as Hollywood movies get. I think a big reason Christopher Nolan is so successful is that he prioritizes the acting. In the midst of the gargantuan technical feats that are going on all over the set, he makes sure to give space to the actors and leave room for them to be able to focus.

Rewatched Inception last night and caught this exchange right when they go into the first dream level of ‘the heist’.
Arthur: You couldn’t have peed before you went under?Yusuf: Sorry.Eames: A bit too much free champagne before takeoff, eh, Yusuf?Yusuf: [deadpan] Ha ha bloody-ha.Cobb: Well, we know he’s going to be looking for a taxi in this weather.
So, the reason it’s raining in the first level is because Yusuf had to go pee before he fell asleep!? This dude held it for 13 hours?
To me this is the craziest thing about that movie. Did you guys catch this?
